Mommy's Heart Went POP
I just ran across a book called "Mommy's Heart Went Pop" on another family's adoption blog. After watching the video I'm thinking I will definitely talk to my husband tonight about becoming a "backer" for this book. (You basically pre-order which helps them cover the cost of printing.)
It sounds like it is going to be an awesome children's book about transracial adoption. The words from the video felt like they were coming straight out of my heart. I have felt those exact same things as I care for our son Jonah and wonder who is caring for our babies in the Congo. This video gets me excited to read the rest of the book! It sounds like one of those books I can picture us reading together often as a family of 5 all piled in mommy and daddy's bed. =)
Ok, so go check out the SNEAK PEEK VIDEO for yourself on the website at http://www.pop-theadoptionbook.com/ and consider becoming a "backer" so this wonderful book can actually happen! If you yourself are not adopting, it would make a WONDERFUL gift for an Adoption Shower for someone you know or just a great addition to your children's book collection!! (Especially if your children have friends who have come into their families through the miracle of adoption.)
(I believe this is one of the author's adoption blog http://adoptingruby.blogspot.com/2011/09/popan-adoption-story.html )

Our Both Hands Project Recap
The Lord gave us beautiful weather this past Saturday for our Both Hands project!! The perfect number of people were able to come help (totally the Lord) knock out our "to-do list" for Mrs. Denise home. Here's a video we made to recap our day. We hope you enjoy it!
Both Hands is a non-profit helping orphans and widows. Our team of friends and family sent letters out asking people to sponsor them (like a 5k,etc) as we work on a widow's home for a day. My husband and I covered the costs of all the supplies for the day. ALL of the money raised goes directly to our adoption costs!
A BIG THANKS to:
*Home Depot for donating $100 in gift cards & giving us 20% off everything else
*Chic-Fil-A for donating Chicken sandwiches for our whole team
*Starbucks for donating lots of coffee to get us ready for the day
*Walmart for donating $25 to help cover the cost of drinks for the team
You can also view the video online @ http://youtu.be/HQR-dZQQ8hk
**There are details at the end of the video if you or someone you know would like to support our adoption!!
* You can make a tax-deductible donation online by clicking the Donate button next to the "Meacham family" project details at www.lifesongfororphans.org/bhProj.html
Hope you had a great weekend!

A Congolese Adoption Video
If you have any trouble viewing this sweet family's video here, you can watch it online @ http://youtu.be/-E2GDzxCBEg.
You can also read more about their adoption journey @ http://www.journeytocongo.blogspot.com/. They started the process in early 2010, so they were one of the very first families from the US to adopt from the DRC. You'll notice in the video that she mentions being in the country for 41 days! We've talked to our director about this & she reassured us that she chose the Attorney she did because he has done adoptions before & said he will have us in and out the country in 1-2 weeks. We know it is ultimately in the Lord's hands, so we are trusting Him with this! Enjoy the video! I just love watching God knit families together! I can't wait to see the faces of the children God has for us & officially get our referrals! Trusting that will happen in His timing.
And friends, one last thing: would you please join me in praying for our friends Justin & Bonnie? Join with me and our church family as we plead with the Lord for a MIRACLE to bring their 2 children home from Ethiopia SOON! And that the Lord would give them peace that surpasses understanding until that day comes!
We are having our 1st Team Meeting with our Both Hands team tonight! We are excited to get started with this awesome project that we get to be a part of! You can be praying with us that the Lord would provide abundantly for all we need through this adoption fundraiser! You can learn more about Both Hands in this post.

Both Hands!!
We are so excited and encouraged to have some GOOD news on our adoption! Yesterday morning we got a call from Lifesong telling us that we were approved for a $10,000 interest-free loan from our wonderful church, Immanuel, and that we were approved for the Both Hands fundraising project!
We are praising God for HIS provision! Just the night before all the awesome ladies in my Bible study prayed that the Lord would provide for our adoption & that we would trust in His provision. {THANK YOU LADIES for your encouragement & continued prayer for us in this season! I'm so thankful for each of you!}
We are SO EXCITED to have the opportunity to be a part of Both Hands!!
Both Hands= One for the Orphan + One for the Widow
We will be gathering a team of friends and family to help work on a widow's home one Saturday. Each team member will send letters out asking people to donate to our adoption.
"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." James 1:27

One Less by Matthew West
I LOVE Matthew West's song "One Less." Here's a great video where you can listen to the song & celebrate God placing orphans in families! PRAISE GOD- They are no longer orphans, but cherished sons & daughters!

ONE LESS
So, for my birthday today I got a pretty awesome gift! I got to welcome our friends Ryan and Lesli and their SON home from Ethiopia at the airport!!! I got to the airport so excited to help capture their day in pictures only to realize that I left my MEMORY CARD at home!! So frustrating, but I will try to post some pictures that some of our friends took! Until then, I want to celebrate Greer's homecoming with this video:
There's ONE LESS broken heart in the world tonight!
Welcome Home Greer!!!!!!!

We are the sons and daughters
Just heard this song and saw this awesome video by Third Day for the first time & had to share it! It is so good and had me in tears. I hope you love it too!
To all who are trusting in Christ's atoning death on the cross ALONE for their salvation,
"We are the saints. We are the children.
We've been redeemed. We've been forgiven.
We are the son and daughters of our God!"
In awe of God's grace in my life!!!! I was ADOPTED by God when I was 20 years old, how about you??

Are you willing to rescue what God holds dear?
This video & message from Eric Ludy stirs my heart and makes me want to RUN to Ethiopia right now to my son! I hope if you are considering adoption, or if you have never in your life thought about adopting I hope you'll watch it. I hope it will cause you to start thinking about adoption the way God does. But don't stop there, PRAY that the Lord would show you how He wants to use you to care for the fatherless!
